Stewards of the Garden
At McKee Botanical Garden, every gift—large or small—helps advance our mission: to nurture and enhance our historic jungle in a unique tropical setting for the education, enjoyment, and enrichment of all. With deep roots in environmental stewardship, cultural expression, education, history, and plant conservation, we are committed to ensuring that every dollar delivers maximum impact.
Cultivating Purpose and Opportunity
Our Stewards of the Garden recognize that a one-time or recurring gift of $25,000+ can shape the future. Steward gifts may be directed to one of five priority areas that align with your interests:
- Horticulture & Living Collections
Care, expansion, and documentation of our signature waterlilies, orchids, and tropical plantings—soil to canopy— including propagation, seasonal displays, and expert staff support. - Education & Community Engagement
Hands-on learning for all ages: standards-aligned school programs, camps, family workshops, guided tours, volunteer training, and accessible interpretation that deepens connection to nature. - Conservation & Sustainability
Integrated plant conservation, water stewardship, habitat enhancement, and reduced chemical use—advancing best practices on site while sharing knowledge with peer institutions. - Cultural Programs & Exhibitions
Curated art, performance, and signature events (from FLORIGAMI to JUNGLE LIGHTS) that animate the Garden, broaden audiences, and spark wonder at the intersection of art and nature. - Heritage Preservation & Archives
Protection and interpretation of McKee’s historic landscape, architectural icons, and archives—research, restoration, and storytelling that honor our founders and inspire the next century.
