Capture the beauty of McKee Botanical Garden through the timeless style of the Impressionists. In this three-session, hands-on painting class with instructor Pearl Lau, participants will learn techniques inspired by Claude Monet while creating their own works featuring McKee’s iconic water lilies and lush tropical landscapes.

Throughout the course, participants will:

• Learn the fundamentals of Impressionist painting with a focus on Claude Monet’s techniques.
• Paint McKee Botanical Garden’s beautiful water lilies and landscapes as artistic inspiration.
• Explore the symbolism of water lilies and gardens in Asian art and culture.
• Discover the work of both historic Impressionist masters and contemporary artists.
• Meet one of McKee’s gardeners for a special presentation on the Garden’s renowned water lily collection, providing a deeper appreciation of the plants that inspire the artwork.

Class Information

• Participants will provide their own art supplies. A supply list will be provided by the instructor prior to the first class.
• Tables and tabletop easels will be provided.
• No prior painting experience is necessary. Beginners and experienced artists are welcome.
