Instructor: Wendy McLoughlin
Wendy started painting murals in 1978 as the backdrops for theatrical performances in her small town in Upstate NY. In 1986, she graduated cum laude with a BS in Fine Arts from CSR in Albany NY. While continuing mural painting, she also ran an Interior Design company from 1994 until 2013 which specialized in murals, trompe l’oeil, and faux surfaces.
A Sebastian, Florida resident since 2013, Wendy continues to paint murals in downtown Vero Beach and smaller canvases as well.
The beach has been the inspiration for her jewelry making, a new venture for her since 2018, and she is head-over-heels in love with this medium. The passion she feels for the work she is doing now is indescribable. There is a personality in each piece she creates, and you can see its uniqueness as you hold her art in your hand.
Wendy’s murals and work can still be seen in professional buildings across upstate NY, western MA and Vero Beach, including: St Peter’s Hospital, Equinox Center Albany and Berkshire Tech in Pittsfield, MA. She has taught painting classes and other workshops and is the owner of Artiture, an online shop.
