MCKEE BOTANICAL GARDEN TO OFFER SUMMER MEMBERSHIPS
VALID JUNE THROUGH SEPTEMBER
For the second year, McKee Botanical Garden is offering summer memberships for a special price of $15 for an individual or $20 for a family.
Memberships are valid June through September 2014. In addition to four months of unlimited visits to McKee, benefits include free admission to the Garden’s Waterlily Celebration on June 21, a 10% discount at the Garden Gift Shop, access to the Garden’s Library, and free or reduced admission to nearly 300 gardens, museums and arboreta - including seventeen in Florida -through the American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Admissions Program.
"Due to the success of last year's summer membership program, we decided to begin the promotion earlier and extend it to four months instead of three," stated McKee Executive Director Christine Hobart. "It's a great way for local residents and families to become better acquainted with the Garden, either as part of a staycation or their summer travels."
A number of the Garden’s unique botanical specimens are in bloom during the summer months such as the colorful Bottlebrush with its spiky red flowers, the majestic Queen Crepe Myrtle and dozens of varieties of waterlilies including several award winners as well as the two-tone Wanvisa.
Children and families can create their own adventure while they visit with one of McKee’s Garden Discovery Backpacks. Each backpack contains an activity guide and journal along with an assortment of tools to assist with their exploration. Children can choose from five different age-appropriate themes: Garden Explorer, Things with Wings, It’s a Bug’s World, Plantastic, and Survival: Lost in the Jungle. Backpacks are exclusive to McKee Botanical Garden and may be checked out at Admissions for no additional cost.
To purchase a summer membership, download the ‘Summer Membership Pass.’ Bring the pass to Admissions for payment and processing.
