Description: From basic butchering techniques to a composed meal, let Chef Chad Darwent guide you through the process of preparing this versatile cut. No need to travel to a steakhouse to enjoy these delicious recipes that can be made at home. Gain insight and inspiration as Chef Darwent demonstrates how to create a beef filet appetizer and entrée that students will get to eat at the conclusion of class.

About the Instructor: Tampa nativeChad Darwent is the Executive Chef and creative force behind Agape Café at Vista Plantation. His fresh, made-from-scratch creations continue to entice Treasure Coast residents. Chef Darwent has trained with some of the country’s most celebrated chefs including Thomas Keller and Iron Chef Ron Siegel. He has held positions at restaurants in Sarasota and San Francisco before relocating to Vero Beach three years ago. He was Vero’s 2012 Top Chef Challenge runner-up and formerly Executive Chef at Hale River Market.

Description: Let Chef Rodriguez show you how to prepare the perfect paella, incorporating the freshest tastes of the season. Complement this hearty classic with a refreshing glass of sangria. Nothing says ‘summer’ like this light and fruity favorite. Find out tips for creating your own signature sip at home. Students will enjoy a cooking demonstration and tasting.

About the instructor: David Rodriguez’s cuisine is a reflection of his Cuban-American heritage. Formerly the Executive Chef of Oriente at Costa d’Este Beach Resort, Rodriguez is the owner and Executive Chef of Cork and Tapas Restaurant where diners can enjoy a variety of small plates, fine wines by the glass and decadent desserts in a relaxed setting. He is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of New York and has worked at restaurants in Miami Beach, New Jersey and New York.
