MOMS RECEIVE FREE ADMISSION WITH ANY PAID ADMISSION TO MCKEE ON MOTHER’S DAY
Instead of a bouquet of flowers, why not give Mom the gift of the Garden this Mother’s Day?
On Sunday, May 12 McKee Botanical Garden will offer free admission to mothers with any paid admission from noon to 5 pm.
“We recognize the numerous contributions that mothers make to their families and their community,” explained McKee Executive Director Christine Hobart. “We are pleased to offer free admission to McKee on their special day as a way of expressing our appreciation for these efforts.”
Families are invited to stroll along the Garden’s paths and explore its 18 acres of native plants and lush, tropical vegetation. It’s also a great opportunity for children to check out one of McKee’s Garden Discovery Backpacks, a newly created series of age-appropriate backpacks containing educational tools and materials focused around five different garden-related themes. The program, which is exclusive to McKee, is designed to provide children with a more enhanced visiting experience. It’s also a perfect activity to enjoy with Mom.
Additionally, Elizabeth’s at the Garden Café will be hosting a special Mother’s Day brunch buffet from 11:30 am to 2 pm. The buffet will feature French toast casserole, egg frittata, mixed greens salad, Greek pasta salad, roasted chicken with tarragon vinaigrette, herb roasted filet with creamy horseradish, pastries, coffee cake, and assorted beverages. Cost is $18.95 for adults and $8.95 for children. Garden admission is not included. Reservations can be made by calling 772-794-0601 ext. 111.
McKee’s summer admission rates, effective May 1, are $7 adults, $6 seniors and $4 children ages 3 to 12. Admission is free for members and children under 3.
